Our History

Welcome to Alamance Elementary School

Rooted in Community. Growing with Purpose.

Alamance Elementary has been a proud part of southeastern Guilford County since the 1920s. Over the years, our school has grown and adapted to meet the needs of our students and community. In 1947, we moved to our current site, and since then, we’ve seen many exciting changes—including new buildings, renovations, and updates that support modern learning.

In 2014, a major renovation and addition project expanded our campus to serve up to 700 students with new classrooms, art, music, science, and pre-K spaces. Today, we serve Pre-K through fifth grade in updated buildings designed for learning, creativity, and inclusion.

As a Project Unify school and active participant in Special Olympics, we’re proud to foster a school culture that values respect, advocacy, and support for all learners.

Alamance Elementary is more than a school—it’s a community where students grow, families connect, and lifelong learning begins.
